General Science introduces the student to the field of science, and gives him a better understanding of the work: he lives in. It also prepares the way for future studies in more specialized fields of science. Biology is the study of living things. Its study should make the student more aware of, and more appreciative of the various forms of plant and animal life that surround him.

Literature emphasizes writing, speaking and appreciation of literature. The student strives to correct old errors and arrange his thoughts logically and effectively in oral and written composition. He is introduced to the best in literature.

Reading and writing Shorthand is how we learn the subject. We strive to master brief forms and to be able to write Shorthand at least sixty words per minute on a five-minute take. Some students acquire eighty, ninety, hundred or one-hundred twenty words. History gives an excellent opportunity to leam something of the culture of various groups of people. It aims to teach a degree of culture and Interest in world events. 8
