THIRD ROW: Carol Essington, Bruce McKelvey, Alfred Toney, Joyce Circle, Bill Lake. The instrumental music program actually begins in grade five. Class lessons on any band instrument are available to all students in the school district. After several years of study and practice, students are prepared to enter the band in high school. The primary objective of the band is to learn to enjoy and play fine music and to perform in public at various school and community activities. The band appears Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Fall Festivals, American Legion and any other occasion, when requested. SENIOR BAND MEMBERS. FIRST ROW: Shirley McKelvey. The complete Glee Club meets twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday fifth periods. On Thursdays there is sectional practice for Glee Club groups. Money-making projects for this organization have been the sale of fruit cakes, jitney suppers. The ensemble (lower right picture) has made several appearances. One appearance was at the Racine Chapter of the Eastern Star.
