Sales Manager, Shirley McKelvey, distributes stationery to Nadine Rouse, Rosemary Salser, and Carolyn Norris. Rosemary receives money from the students for individual packages of pictures. Assistant Sales Manager, Virginia Johnson, helps in the distribution to Lena Neville. Anyone want to buy some stationery. Mr. Kincaid who took our group pictures remained ever kind and patient. Ann Sargent and Mary Cundiff take their turn at selling concessions at the basketball game. Lois Ann Knopp and Marion Bostick have fun at taking their turn selling concessions. Our class sponsored a Women's Basketball game to earn money for our Senior trip.

Columbus, Ohio May 30, 1969 Dear Virginia, With spring again 1 hear so much about graduation time and it reminds me of our graduation from high school -- dear old Racine High! Recently I wrote to Sharon Boso, who is now Racine High Secretary, and asked about some of our classmates. Since you are so far away, teaching in the University of Georgia, I thought you might be interested in hearing what our friends are now doing. Sharon shares an apartment with Mary Alice Nease, who teaches Latin at Racine, and with Donna Hilldore, who has a beauty salon. I saw Lena Neville over on the Ohio State Campus the other day, and she told me she is studying to be a doctor. Mary Cundiff is also working at Ohio State. She is Assistant Dean of Women. Our class has its sportsmen too. Harry Ours manages the famous ‘‘Hotshots’’ basketball team here in Columbus. Among the players on the team are Ronnie Salser and Don McDade. Arnold Adams also has a career in sports. He is head coach at Glenford. Last week I attended the Racine High Band Concert and, among the people I saw, was the former Rose Mary Salser. She is married now and has three of the sweetest children. Among the other “family people’’ from our class are Jim Price and the former Joann Wickline, Patty Martin Beegle, and of course Ann Sargent Rees and Barbara Adams Whitlock. You have no doubt seenJackCummins’s latest movie “Heartbreak.” Charles Gaul is his new manager. Arthur Beegle also is in Hollywood. He has his private rock-and-roll recording studio. Among other notables from our class are Charles Ihle and Jim Adams, who are now touring in Italy, dancing with the Swan Lake Theater group. Carolyn Norris, Joy Foster, Judy Shields, Linda Circle, and Sally Pearson are members of the “Rockettes.” Also in New York are Lois Knopp and Frankie Chapman, who are fashion designers for “Orhbacks. Several of our former classmates have remained in Meigs County. Among these are Martha Teaford and Aide Stover, who have a fashion center in Letart and Norman Deem and Marion Bostick, who are co-managers of the new aluminum plant there. Also, Linda Cozart and Dorothy Bush, who work in Portland for the Meigs Publishing Company. Carol Essington has made quite a name for herself. Her recent discovery of a new element has won her much praise all over the world. Wanda Faber is her business manager and Linda Michael and Leota Parsons are her laboratory technicians. While in Racine last week, I ate dinner in the Theiss Restaurant, owned by Arlene Theiss. The Rousey twins, Barbara and Bonnie, are waitresses there. Dinner music was provided by Mary Walton on the organ. While there, I bought a copy of the Racine Tribune.” In the Society Column, written by Linda Donahue, society editor, I learned that Nadine Roush and Jane Harris were home recently from their teaching positions at Vassar School for Girls. Nadine is head mistress and Jane teaches public speaking. I also learned from die paper that Roy Van Meter and Melvin Circle own and operate the Happy Go Lucky Casino in Las Vegas. As for myself, I am still working as private secretary to the Governor of Ohio. Well, Jinny, when I started I meant this to be a friendly letter; but as I finish I find it to be more of a class history of the last ten years. Sincerely Shirley McKelvey Johnson 20
