MARABELLE SHARPNACK General FJIA., 1,2; Librarian 2,3. Our school had three winners in the State Senior Scholarship Tests. They are Mary Alice Nease, Charles Ihle and Carol Essington. Carol placed in the top five per cent of the state. CLASS HISTORY In September 1955, seventy-four FRESHMEN entered Racine High SchooL According to custom, we were initiated by the sophomore class. From the first six-week honor roll, we elected the following officers: Jimmy Adams, President; Altie Stover, Vice-President; Rosemary Salser and Nadine Roush, Secretary-Treasurer; and Lois Knopp, Reporter. To meet the expenses of the freshmen initiation in 1956, we paid class dues. When we re-entered high school in 1956 as SOPHOMORES, our class had decreased to a total of sixty-six members. We elected Nadine Roush, President; Ronnie Salser, Vice-President; Shirley Mc-Kelvey, Secretary-Treasurer; and Lois Knopp, Reporter. That year we continued to pay class dues. In 1957, our JUNIOR CLASS organized with fifty-nine members. Our officers were: Rosemary Salser, President; Lois Knopp, Vice-President; Nadine Roush, Secretary-Treasurer; and FrankieChapman, Business Manager. Many projects werecarried out in order to help finance our senior trip. One of the highlights of that year was our play, “Hillbilly Weddin”. Now after a short summer’s vacation, our SENIOR year has arrived. With a class membership of forty-eight, we elected the following officers: Carol Essington, President; Nadine Roush, Vice-President; Patty Martin, Secretary; Rosemary Salser, Treasurer; Shirley McKelvey, Business Manager; and Virginia Johnson, Assistant Business Manager. To finance our trip to Washington and New York, we sold stationery, managed concessions at basketball games, and gave our play. Now, farewell to classmates and our Alma Mater.
