CLASS HISTORY In September, 1953, seventy-five freshmen entered Racine High School. According to the custom, we were initiated at the Freshmen Sophomore Reception. From the first six-week honor roll, we elected Larry Badgley, president; Maralyn Cleland, vice-president; Donna Circle, secretary-treasurer; reporter, Janice Wolfe. To finance the expenses of the freshmen initiation in 1954, we sold magazines and paid ninety cents dues. The next year 1954, out of a class of seventy, we elected Dwain Sayre, president; Robert Birch, vice-president; Clyde Johnson, secretary-treasurer. That year we sold miscellaneous articles and initiated the freshmen. In 1954, after a short summer vacation, sixty juniors returned to elect David Hysell, president; Maralyn Cleland, vice-president; Dwain Sayre, secretary-treasurer; and Robert Euler, business manager. Highlights were selling magazines, Spring Festival, ice-cream social, and the Junior play, “Ote for the Money.” Our senior class membership has decreased to forty-six. Our chosen officers were; Robert Euler, president; Dwain Sayre, vice-president; Phyllis File, secretary-treasurer; and Janice Wolfe, business manager. To finance the trip, we had a Fall Festival, produced “The Racina,” sold stationery and concessions at basketball games and gave our Senior play. Now as our high school days are past, there’s sincere regret in our hearts as we bid the teachers, the students, and the school.... farewell. 15
