HISTORY In September, 1950, sixty-two Freshmen entered Racine High School. For a lew weeks this was a new and exciting experience. Soon we were welcomed by the “Freshmen Reception,” and we no longer felt strange. From the first six-weeks’ honor roll we elected for our class officers: Loretta Davis, President; Alice Fisher, Vice-President; and Norman Roush, Secretary-Treasurer. After a short summer vacation, we returned with a class of forty-eight members. We elected for our Sophomore class officers: Ronnie McDade, President; Buddy Cundiff, Vice-President; and Lowell Salser, Secretary-Treasurer. Our highlight of the year was the “Freshmen Reception.” With fourty-four Juniors, we elected Norman Roush, President; Lowell Salser, Vice-President; Ronnie McDade, Secretary-Treasurer; and Marlene Shields, Business Manager for our class officers. We produced our Junior Class Play entitled “Love Your Neighbor,” sponsored a donkey basketball game, sold stationery, and conducted other money-making campaigns for a trip. Now, we are Seniors! We have a class of thirty-five, after losing one member the first six-weeks of school. We elected to lead us during our Senior year: Marlene Shields, President; Ronnie McDade, Vice-President; Norman Roush, Secretary-Treasurer; and Alice Fisher, Business Manager. During our four years, Barbara Roush has served as Class Reporter. Our first activity of the year was sponsoring a Fall Festival, of which Bonnie Badgley, Senior Class Representative, was chosen queen. Other projects were: selling candy and pop at basketball games, selling stationery, magazines, and various other articles, editing a yearbook, and producing our Senior Class Play, “The Little Dog Laughed.” During our school years, several members of the class have played on the basketball and baseball teams. Also members have won various scholastic awards for the school and themselves.
