EXCHANGE OF CULTURES, ORIENTAL STYLE The wrestling club of Takoaka Commercial High School, from Takoaka Japan, received a warm welcome from Snider students and faculty. Snider High School had the privilege of hosting the Japanese wrestling team during the week of January 4-8. During the week the wrestlers also visited many important sights of Fort Wayne which included: Historical Museum, McMillen Health Center, Seyferts ' Potato Chips, and the City-County Building, where they met with Mayor Moses. They also had a chance to eat where many Snider students meet after the basketball games, where? McDonald ' s of course. As the week ended the two schools were able to share each other ' s cultures and traditions. Students had made new friends, thousands of miles away from Snider High School, in Ft. Wayne ' s sister city. A gift from the Publications Staff the wrestlers look at an I Love Fort Wayne game, Monopoly style. Two Japanese wrestlers talk on their visit to Fort Wayne. POWDER PUFF: A TRADITION It started as a drizzle and became a good September rain. At three o ' clock cars began to arrive, loaded with junior and senior girls. The game started at four and returning senior Powder Puff players recalled the cancelled game the year before. This year by the end of the game all players were soaking wet, as was the football field. But determined football players never let the rain dampen their spirits. The Powder Puff players finished the game with a score of 14-7, seniors. After all, at Snider, it ' s a tradition! Seniors prepare a strong and rugged defense. Patty Gant sets up the next play with the offensive players. Patty Eifrid practices running the ball for the junior team. Junior girls smile for a group pix. 27 5fc
