Homecoming The sparks began to fly as Snider beat out Huntington North for a 48-0 victory. The 1981 Homecoming proved to be only one star in Snider ' s winning streak. The first score was made by Scott Sengers one yard plunge. Rod Woodson set up the play with a 52 yard punt return. The score rose when Senior Mark Carter passed to Geoff Williams on a 21 yard pass play. On the next touchdown play, Rod Woodson sprinted 35 yards on a punt return, moving the score up to 28-0. The Panthers finished the first half with another John Ramsey touchdown. During halftime, Snider followed tradition and Senior Judy Long was crowned as Queen. Her escort was Shaun Brennan. The members of the court were: Seniors Junita Gaston and Jeannie Montgomery; Juniors Suzanne Rousseau and Patrice Shade; Sophomores Angie Ackerman and Vonda Brooks; and Freshman Val Brooks and Lori Kratzman. Halftime ended and Scott Senger started the 3rd Quarter with a 13 yard run. Enrico Boykins followed with a final three yard sprint to set the final Homecoming score at 48-0. Homecoming Week activities included, car decorations, PTA Pizza dinner, Bonfire, Color Day, Powder Puff Game and Hall decorations. All in all Panther Pride and spirit was felt by all students during Homecoming 1981, and it happened All in a Day. SPIRIT WEEK 2 As a first for Snider students, the Student Council elected to have a second Spirit Week to honor our Basketball, Gymnas- tic, and Wrestling teams. The main hall was decorated and the traditional Pep Session was held on Friday. On Monday students dressed in sweats, Tuesday was Dress-up day, Thursday, Cowboy day, and on Friday they finished off the week with color day. Wednesday the students were off on a well deserved break, while teachers attended workshops. The weekend was part of the festivities also. Friday the Basketball team almost defeat- ed Marion with a score of 86-88. On Saturday, the students joined in on another first for Snider, the MORP. All in all, the Student Council and students of Snider High School, pulled off another week of fun-filled activities during Spirit Week 2. W. A skit with Bob and Doug McKenzie (alias, Mike Worthly and John Crilly) turns out to be a beauty, eh? This first rate Cowgirl gets into the Foreign Languages cheer the Snider spirit. Basketball team on to victory. A pyramid, a sign, and Senior talent, gives the Basketball team a Good Luck. 12
