Foreign Language Christmas Festival The 1979-80 Christmas Open-House proved to be the most successful open house in Snider ' s history. With record crowds of around 1000 people, the Snider Foreign Language wing seemed to become a winter wonderland. All facets of the Foreign Language Department became involved. Spanish, French, Latin and German students and teachers alike pooled their resources to make this Christmas tradition, one of beauty and unique meaning. Spanish students added to the Spirit by doing Folk dances, singing Mexican and Spanish Christmas songs and even adding a touch of the Contemporary by performing a Spanish disco. French students added that French flair with their renditions of several songs with instrumentation. The German students were not to be out done. Those students of Latin descent were also exceptional in their creative presentations and added a Christmas extra by inviting the Latin Santa to the Open house. The evening ended with the participants all joining in Silent Night sung in Spanish, French, Latin and German and English. At the end, everyone agreed that the feelings that were shared was that of universal good will and peace. TOP RIGHT: Edie Hinman takes time out to pose with Santa Caesar.
