Homecoming Court (1 to r), Mark Dumolin, Nettie Bowman, Doug Keys, Kim Sample, Tom Teel, Kathy Hornak, Scott Kilmer, Sherri Rebman, Mike Lee, Lori Wigbtman, Glenn Grise, Maureen Hornak, Dave Dumoulin, Chris Sylvia, John Moran, and Leslie Richter. During the week of September 24-29, commonly known as Spirit Week, the Snider Student Council planned activities went over well with the student body making Earth, Wind, and Fire a huge success. The festivities included: Jersey Day, Hoe Down Day, Toga Day, Pajama Day, and Color Day. For those students who didn ' t think dressing up was their thing, a number of other activities were available. The Hall Decorating Contest gave the school a festive look and the Senior class took home the award for the best decorations. Other activities included the annual Junior-Senior Powder puff game, in which the Seniors were victorious, Homecoming Court elections, the Bon-fire and the car decorating contest. The game itself showed the support the Panthers gave for their teams. The Panthers showed their undaunted spirit and pride by making the 1979 Homecoming game a sell-out. It was a fight to the end, and it provided the Northside Redskins with a workout few people thought possible, although the Redskins remained undefeated. The mighty Panthers gave Northside what proved to be the most challenging contest of the season. Even though the Panthers lost the game, spirits never faltered and the preceding week the Panthers defeated Northrop. Let it be said that we Panthers are an invincible crowd because even in the face of adversity WE BELIEVE! Don ' t look now Barney, but there is a Redskin on your tail. Coach Isaacs gives the Panthers a pep talk. Hey Panthers! let ' s beat those Redskins: The Marching Band added flare to the evening with flames and a special brass quartet. Quartet members were: Marc Neely, Carl Omstead, Terry Fisher, and Brian Witte. 11
