Work, Rest, Fun; Snider offers variety - to fit all Panthers Nervously clutching her notebook a new student enters Snider. It was all she could do to refrain from screaming and darting home for safety. The school appeared monstrous with its long halls and numerous classrooms. The smiles on the faces of the teachers and students seemed to be meant only for their friends. A noise behind her caused her to whirl around. There she stood, staring into the fac e of a 62 blue-eyed blonde . . . Can I help you? Yes, I ' m looking for the guidance office, she stammered. That ' s on the other side of the building. Here I ' ll take you . . . You look kind of scared, you must be new. Don ' t worry, a few days, and you ' ll find yourself fitting right in. By the way, I ' m Tom. I ' m Sue. You ' re smart in going to student Services, it ' s the place if you have any trouble in any class. Counselors and teachers are always there to help. The teachers help? Sure, that ' s another thing about Snider; the teachers want to be your friend as well as your instructor. Tell me some more about Snider. Well, there ' s the school store if you ever need any supplies, and the College Career Center which counsels students on their post high school plans. Snider really does have a lot of things going for it, like the auditorium, the gyms, the tennis courts; and there ' s also all types of clubs and activities ranging from poetry to soccer. That ' s just a start, but here ' s the office. I have to go to class now. Thanks. Don ' t mention it, and don ' t worry, Snider will fit you too; it does everyone. As he left, he gave her a big smile. I think I ' m going to like it here, she thought.

An intensive study on SAT scores revealed that Snider achieved higher standings than other city schools, and that its academic program is excellent. Courses were improved or added in many of the departments, including a new college level and college preparatory psychology course. Academics, as in all other facets of Snider, has been developed to fit the needs of the students. SPORTS: Pages 62-99 Amid yells of R-O-W-D-l-E and Sha-boom, the athletic teams led the panthers to victory after victory, ultimately attaining high season, city or sectional records. Snider provides sports events and activities that fit all students; created not only to improve physical fitness, but also to develop good sportsmanship, and teamwork. Long hours of strenuous practice brought about the victories giving both the participants and fans the pride and spirit associated with Snider. Together
