What a week it was! What ' s the greatest time of the year? Homecoming! Never is there more spirit; never are the students more rowdy, boisterous, and crazy; never at any other time does one see panthers in mixed-up clothes one day, sticky suckers in every hand another day, and the girls trying not to talk to the guys another day. Also unique to Homecoming are those really wacky guys who don earrings, cheerleading outfits, hair ribbons, and other feminine features just to have a bunch of fun. This year, Homecoming offered something for everyone. For the sophomores, it was the first big chance to show themselves as a part of Snider, and really get in to the mood of the school. In participation, this year ' s sophomores were some of the best! The juniors feel a bit of seniority by this year, and tend to want to show the sophomores how things are done, and this year they really did. They took first in the hall decorations. ABOVE: ...Now the play goes like this... The junior powderpuff team tries to upset the senior team. Go! Fight! Win! Snider ' s cheerleaders keep the team spirit alive. Homecoming ' 77 Homecoming leaves mixed feel- ings with the seniors. As the old hats around school, they take the idiotic antics in stride, loving every minute of it. Not far from their minds, however, is the thought that this time next year, everyone will be going in different directions. For the first time the fact of being a senior really hit home! As the week progressed, everyone looked with anticipation to the big pep session, when confetti was stuffed into paper bags, toilet paper ran low in the grocery stores, and voices were saved till roll call when chaos broke loose. Then the game, like no other game! The tenseness was felt throughout the entire stadium, as the team played harder than ever before. The crowning of senior Torri Williams as Queen, the win over Northside 10-9, and the victory dance afterwards tied up the week in a package of excitement and fun. Though during Homecoming the panthers put forth very little in homework, they really shone through with spirit!!
