Students experience a world of change The school year of 1976-1977 was a time of achievement both academically and athletically. Snider had nine seniors named as National Merit Finalists, the most ever. In sports, we had the first football team from Fort Wayne to go to State as well as some record breaking pole vaulters. The spectators displayed more spirit and more confetti than any year before, boosting the basketball team to new heights. New songs, spectacular movies, new eating places, and much-sought-after jobs helped to fill up our spare time. It was the year of The Big Snow which provided us with ten days of unexpected vacation. We witnessed an exciting Presidential election. On television we saw President Ford leave office and President Jimmy Carter come in, the first Deep South president in a hundred years. Indiana was the 35th state to pass ERA and locally, a new curfew was enforced in the city parks affecting many students. This year was a year of diversity reflected by our many activities, interests, and achievements. Yet, we all had and still have one important element in common: WE ARE SNIDER PANTHERS. Time is a road of diversity and change.
