Essay on Spirit Panther school spirit was evident this year in many different ways. The spirit at the pep sessions was sometimes hiding somewhe re under the bleachers. The most successful pep sessions were those with a purpose: Homecoming, Girl ' s Volleyball in State Finals, and Basketball Sectional. Our cheerleaders put In a lot of hard work to help boost spirit but the only time anyone really expressed it was during Roll Call. The Juniors dominated the show of spirit by receiving the Spirit Stick almost everytime. Girl ' s sports were strong examples of spirit shown by teams. The participants had the spirit and tried to relay it to others. The volleyball team took se- cond at State and the gymnastic team had a successful season too. At Christmas time the Lettermen ' s Club spon- sored their annual Can Drive breaking a city record by raising over 17,770 cans to give to the Fort Wayne Christmas Bureau. Mr. Williams ' first period class, Room 103, brought in 4,894 cans in a week ' s time for first place. The Student Council ' s State School Christ- mas project was successful too. Students collected over $900 worth of gifts and gave eleven parties for State School patients. Our Marching Band was the only one from Fort Wayne to receive first or superior ratings in the NISBOVA contest held in October. Our band performed at all home football and basketball games and at all the pep sessions to help boost spirit.
