Something New Under the Sun Teens from the sophisticated discotheques of the eastern seaboard to the psychedelic shores of Malibu feel that a school is never ' up tight ' until it has graduated a senior class and made itself known to high schools everywhere. This past summer Panthers noticed expressions other than blank looks when R. Nelson Snider High School was mentioned. Pupils as near as New Haven and as far away as Tampa, Florida, are well aware of who the Snider Panthers are. Some attribute the new-found success to a beautiful building, but the real beauty is beyond the brick and cement. Neither is this acknowledgement merely because the school is aging. It was the result of much time and effort by many people. Two National Merit Finalists, an extremely high standing in numerous NISBOVA contests, a city football championship, a sectional crown in basketball, and the city sportsmanship trophy are several examples of the rewards of hard work. Fifty percent of Snider ' s first graduating class is now attending a four-year college, another twenty percent is engaged in other two- year training programs. Pupils have worked and will continue to work to uphold the tradition of greatness. Everywhere people are finding that Snider High School is SOMETHING NEW UNDER THE SUN.
