Many students held jobs after school, working at different establishments such as clothing or grocery stores. However, more peo- ple Iiked to shop in them rather than work in them. If walking the malls did not sound like fun there were many people at the park, playing sv ll football or walking for exercise. Many people gathered with friends after school so that the gossip of the school day could be exchanged. Often, plans for the weekend were made, or homework was done in preperation for the next day. Students Live for Weekends Students did a wide variety of ac- tivities on the weekends. Mr. James Bretthauer, varsity soocer coach, said, My weekends are good, but too short. This response was quite com- mon. Weekends for students were a very busy time, When Amy Bawcom was asked what her plans for the weekend were she responded, Friday l'm going to the football game and the rest of the weekend l'm going to sleep and do my homework. Weekends were times for working, studying, dating, sleeping and other activities. The popular things to do seemed to be: going to the movies, shopping at the malls, and eating out. During foot- ball season, Friday nights were often occupied with games and an occa- sional gym dance. When term theme time rolled around Paschal students were found buried in stacks of books at the library on Saturdays. Maurie Taylor, student-director for one of this year's one act plays, said, l think weekends are fierce just because they are like 'here's to good friends, tonight is kinda special' T- -ii -'1- 7 'Tum ,. il 'lf ix 1193 B ' LWA K X fi .
