Many have become successful, some have become great, but none have forgotten the days they spent and the friends they made here. The purpose of an animal is to capture the events that make up the life of a school. If, when you thumb through this annual, you are able to recall the year 1957-58 With a smile, We of the Panther staff will consider our job Well done. 9 -J tl 1 x 1 .9 g 1v' M or Y Table of Contents Faculty and Administration 8 Classes s,.s so s...... 16 Stardust ..si si.si s U ssss s 80 Royal Ptlrpleswss so M106 Organizations , r.... 112 Athletics s s i150 Activities, ss.s.,s 1 RA g 'film -tial XF: l , . ,lp 4 K W, :V as i 'Zu' , 'lf '. This spirit shows itself both in Paschal,s will to Win and in the cooperation, courtesy, loyalty, and scholarship of the Honor Sys- tem. This spirit is aptly represented in the Paschal Panther. Thus, your 1958 Annual is dedicated to the Panther and to the spirit which it symbolizes - a spirit which has existed since Paschal's begin- ning in 1885, and which will continue to inspire the student body to greater accom- plishments in the years to come. Miss Kirkman, who served as an in- structor in mathematics on the faculty of Paschal High School for many years, was held in high esteem by both faculty and student body. Miss Kirkman's life was an example of unseliishness, devotion to duty, and Christian leadership. She loved life and loved people. Kindness, un- derstanding, and graciousness were some of the guiding principles of her life. She had ability as a leader and served in many offices, including that of president of the Fort Worth Classroom Teachers Association. These qualities of which Wordsworth speaks, .... that best portion of a good manis life, His little, nameless, unremembered acts Of kindness and of love ,.... i' will live on in the minds of those Whose lives were touched by Miss Kirk- manis loyalty and generosity. I was working in one of the nCheyennen films on the back lot at Warners, so I rounded up a group of other cowboys, and the cast and crew. After much discussion, pro and con, we finally agreed that perhaps Miss Barbara Chamberlain has a bit the edge on the others and wins our first nod. Miss Carol Potts is second, and Miss Barbara Lind is a very close third. In our opinion, there was not one girl in the entire group who did not live up to Texas' tradition for producing beautiful women. with best wishes to you all, Sincerely, ' 1 ' T, 1,1'1,7lJ!ZQ.fI,LffClf'C. Paschal Senior High, Fort Worth, Texas. Hello, friends: I have studied the pictures of the attractive young men in your school, and after much soul-searching I have finally come up with the opinion that Dale Wallace is the 'Most Handsome Boy! For my choice of runner-ups, I would say that John Snyder wins second place, and Jim Murray is third. I hope that the rest of the students will agree with me in my choice. It is hard to make a decision, just from seeing pictures. Personality is just as important as features. But on the basis of the photo- graphs alone, Mr. Wallace wins my nOscar.'
