Traveling to San Angelo the following week. Paschal once again lost. but only after scaring the Bobcats when they failed to click together in the tight places. Though losing 20 to 6. Paschal came very close to victory. Weatherford passed to P. R. Davis for Paschalis only score in the second period. Home again after three weeks of traveling. Paschal played Riverside in their first conference en- counter and lost a victory only on a freak play in the last minute, as the Eagles tied the score lil- to 14. Jack Barry and Davis made touchdowns for Paschal on passes from Weatherford and Scott. Paul Grayson, C. M. Grubbs and R. C. FIJl1'1'BllI.I. Undaunted hy the loss of three regular players at the first of the season. Paschal's Fighting Panthers vainly tried to fight off loss after loss hut finished the season with only two wins and eight losses and a tie. Opening the season with the first game ever to he played in Farrington Stadium. Paschal lost to a far superior Amarillo Sandie team 31 to 13. Using two different teams. both outweighing the inex- perienced Panthers, Amarillo scored in every period. Paschal scored in the second and fourth quarters. with Sam Weatherford going over for six points after a pass. Weatherford to P. R. Davis. had netted 33 yards in the first, and another Weatherford to Davis pass clicked for a touchdown in the fourth. The following week, Paschal won her first game, defeating Sherman 14 to 0. End runs and Hat zone passes helped Poly run up a score before the game was seventeen minutes old. Paschal came hack fighting in the second half. threatening many times hut failing to score. The district champion Masonic Home team defeated Paschal 19 to 0 in a game that showed the power of the Masonic Home team and the tight in a losing Paschal team.
