Athletics A baseball team was organized in Company 5 by lklalim l-leller. The lirst game was between Co. -l and Co. 5. X'Ve beat Co. -l by score of 0 to 2. Crowley pitched for the winners while lfleller caught. The second game was between Co. 5 and Co. 0. lflall Qstar pitcher of XVau- keganj pitched for Co. 5. lfle had ten strikeouts to his credit. Wfe won 7 to 3. In the third game, we played Co. -l and beat them 9 to 3. I-lall, pitcher, and Heller, catch, were the batteries. Bairstow playing second for Co. 5 made -l hits out of 4 times up including one two-bugger. Hall struck out l2 men. ln the fourth game Co. 5 beat Co. 6 by score of ll to 5. l-lall struck out 9 men. In the iifth, Co. 5 defeated Co. 6 by the score of 5 to 2. Pennoyer hit a triple for Co. 5, while 'Lampcn hit a three-bagger for Co. 6. Peters brought in three runs for Co. 5. il. lXl. Smith got three hits. Cflood work, Tarzan.j Co. 5 claims a game from Co. 2 for non-appearance. On Sunday, july 27th, Co. 5 played the N. C. Ofs of Camp Custer. VVC lost hy score of 12 to 5. Sergeant Huston played a bang-up game for the N. C. O.'s. Peters, Co. 5, and I-leltron, N. C. Ofs had a collision, both being laid cold. After the game Peters was found to be hurt.
