The Baseball Team XVe were issued a full set of baseball equipment, so it was up to us to fill the uniforms. After three trials we got out a nice crowd and then went after a game. ' The second company was the first to fall before the awe-inspiring curves and freak balls of our pitcher from XfViseonsin, one Williams. He was so good that when he pitched it wasn't any fun at all to play held. The score stood ll to l when we stopped counting in that game. ' The third company had an idea that they were pretty good, so we had to make them realize that we had a team worthy of their notice. Finally they con- sented to a game so we got in about 20 minutes' practice and started with them at bat. This game was better-than the lirst one. ln the tifth we had them 10 to 0 so we quit. Field day someone got up an idea which he thought was pretty good. The Iirst company was to play a team selected from the rest of the camp, and, by the way, for ten gallons of ice cream. XfVe had to win that game., About the seventh inning we had them 9 to 0 so we told them if they would call 'it a day we would give them each a cone. They did. The flfth company wants a game soon, but how can they hope for success? However they are ambitious and that is a good quality. .Hut if you want to know how the frame is going to come out ask the hrst company. 5 h Personnel. 43
