- Cautious expression Couples enjoy time together This year students were cau- tioned not to overly express their feelings for one another in the halls. However, most cou- ples seemed to cope with this caution. On the traditional carnation- sale day, the guys bought flow- ers for their special girls. Roses were also a popular gift item. Holding hands was also a pop- ular trend for couples, at least they could embrace one anoth- er's palm. Junior Sheila Wilkie said that a typical date for her and her boyfriend was out to eat and a movie. Some couples went to near- by parties, but not many - parties were generally where couples got together but not went together. Other couples enjoyed being in the outdoors together. Play- ing tennis, swimming, running, and riding bikes were some popular ways couples spent quality time together and got a little exercise. Whenever or wherever it was, couples always seemed to find time to share together. Senior Paul Prado asks his girlfriend, junior Sheila Wilkie why she won't dance at the sock hop held Oct 2 in the girls' gym.
