DEDICATION MR. SAMUEL D. GRATKE ulf you care, I care. I am not making you work for me-I am directing the work you are doing for yourself. These words, spoken by Sam Gratke, il- lustrate his attitude toward teaching. Through his numerous and highly varied experiences he has collected a staggering amount of knowledge and wisdom with which to guide his students. Anyone who knows Mr. Gratke cannot fail to recognize the high standards he demands of himself. F OREWORD A common quirk of human nature is to recognize value after the valuable has ceased to exist. As time progresses, such may be the case with the 1965-66 school year at R. L. Turner. Now, everyone is so caught up in the swift pace of deadlines to meet, Work that must be completed, and experiences that must be felt, that the true concept of our school is somewhat blurred and vague.
