This year the procedure for the selection of the 1965 Homecoming Queen differed from established tra- ditions. In every two homerooms nom- inations were made, and one girl was chosen as a representative. At one of the pep rallies the thirty semi-final- ists were presented, and elections were held for the twelve finalists. Soon afterwards the finalists were caught in the turmoil, nervousness, and most of all, the excitement of the occasion. On October 22, the twelve lucky girls rode in the parade, and they were presented at the game during halftime. The queen was announced and was escorted onto the fieldby Student Council President, Greig Nash. While standing under the arch made by the Band and Lionette majorettes, Miss Penny Newton was crowned as the 1965 Homecoming Queen.
