196 HOMECOMI G HIGHLIGHT FALL A week before Homecoming, R.L.T. students were faithfully and frantically working on floats and in wood gather- ing campaigns. A pep rally and the big- gest bonfire were held on Thursday night, October 28. The parade formed after school on Friday and was composed of about twenty floats and decorated cars. Later that night the twelve nominees were presented at the game, at which time Penny Newton was crowned as the 1965 Homecoming Queen. After winning the game, students and exes joyously assem- bled at the school for a dance until 1:00 a.m. The senior class won first place in the wood gathering contest. . ...gg 31? -'Q ,4f.n.':1+i,i'.4.5l if .4 0 U 5 , r ' Q . E. H J The junior class worked until the last few minutes before the parade started. The Select Choir tried, but didn't quite make it to the parade in one piece. R I. C. T. won 3rd place in the float contest. The freshmen started the year off big by placing 2nd I4 in the contest. I
