CYNTHIA O'NEILL Band activities have drawn Cynthia O'Neill's inter- ests throughout her high school years. Cynthia has marched in the Roarin' Lion Band for four years and was chosen to be majorette. This year the band voted Cynthia as their Sweetheart. Cynthia served as secretary for the band in her Junior and Senior years. She has also been an active mem- ber in the Math Club, Y-Teens, and a member of the An- nual Staff. Cynthia served on the Junior Executive Com- mittee and was voted as Mort Intelligent Girl this year. PATTI SUMNER Music has been Patti Sumner's chief interest. Various school programs have featured Patti as vocalist and accom- panist. The Sophomore class voted her to serve on the Ex- ecutive Committee. The juniors put Patti to work by choos- ing her as their secretary. Voted to the National Honor S0- ciety in her junior year, she was honored as secretary in her Senior year. The band boasts Patti as a four year member. The Senior class expressed their appreciation and admir- ation of Patti Sumner by selecting her as the Mort Talented. 108

HOWARD JOHNSON Scholarship marks Howard johnson as an outstanding student. While in Ohio, he was a member in the Latin Club and Science Club for two years. He served on the Scholar- ship team. On arriving at RLT, Howard jumped right into school activities. A member of the Math Club and National Honor Society for two years, he served as vice-president in both organizations. Howard represented RLT in Interschol- astic competition. His music interests have centered around band participation for four years. These achievements have been recognized by the Senior class which voted Howard as the Mort Intelligent Boy and the Faculty which voted him Most C0-opemtlve Senior Boy. With the highest average ever recorded at our school, Howard johnson graduated as Valedictorian AN MAYBERRY A hard-working, responsible girl-that's Jan Mayberry. Her class gave their vote of confidence by electing her to the student council for two years. Jan worked on both the Senior and Junior Executive Committee. During the Junior year, she was chosen to be in the National Honor Society and now serves as reporter. Jan- was nominated for the DAR as Mort Co- Citizenship Award and was Faculty choice operative Senior Girl. The officeiof reporter climaxed four years in the Band. The job of Lion's Tale Co-Editor re- quired a great deal of time and effort from her. jan has found interest in the Math Club, Y-Teens, the FTA, and the Roar staff. JIM BEACH JANA SUMRULD Jana Srunruld is the club girl of RLT. Two years in the Science and Future Nurses Clubs were rewarded with her election to the presidency of both. Jana has been a two year member and secretary of the Math and FTA organizations. She has enjoyed the Y-Teens, Library and Art Clubs. The tremendous job of business manager for the Roar Was Jana's. A three year Lionette, she also received the DAR Citizenship Award. Congratulations, Jana, for a job Well done. ,Www A very versatile fellow, Jim Beach can be seen giving the Math Club program or selling tickets to a school dance. Jim has been a member of the National Honor Society for years. During his Senior year, Jim edited the sports section of the Roar. The outstanding Physics student of '63, Jim's club interests are the Math and Science Clubs. He represent- ed RLT in both football for three years and Interscholastic League for two. Highlighting his Senior year was his elec- tion as Student Council President, only to be followed by election as area parliamentarian. Jim Beach has truly served his school well and will surely prove to be the boy Mort Likely to Succeed.
