00' Ou, Let's begin from the beginning. For us, the students of Reynolds High School, the beginning of school was on Monday, Au- gust 31, 1987. From here, numerous tradi- tions were developed and rekindled, par- ties were once again in popular demand, relationships thrived, and school spirit an- nounced its presence in all of the students. The 1987-88 school year offered many exciting and many not-so-exciting aspects for all the students at Reynolds. For a start, the senior class of 1988 was the first four- year graduating class at Reynolds since the school board initiated the four-year high school in the 1984-85 school year. Also, first semester exams were required for all the students, a new rule that was received with little enthusiasm. New teachers were ushered into our classrooms and the ad- ministration initiated some position changes of its own in leadership with Mrs. Simpson now an assistant principal, and Mr. Moore now serving in the central of- fice. ln athletics, teams such as the volley- ball team were setting streaks that had not been experienced before at Reynolds, while the soccer team, not accustomed to many defeats, seemed to have tasted it once too often for their liking. However, a new soc- cer stadium was built and it was shared with Parkland High School. Now night games are played at our home field. The Student Government Association, under Student Body President Alice Goodman, initiated some changes of its own such as a homecoming dance with a live band after the homecoming football game. Finally, the Seniors began choosing the colleges they would attend, while the underclass- men began signing up for their courses for their next high school year. Despite the rapid and often sudden changes that occurred during the school year, some can say that Reynolds High School will always be the same and maybe that is so. Yet, regardless of how we have chosen to view this school year, it is al- ways best to sit back and soak it all in, from the beginning.
