Here we have learned the meaning of personal responsibility, of the power of knowledge, and here we have laid the foun- dation for a solid sense of values with which to face the life we now have before us. We, the editors, proudly present to you, the students, the 1964 Black and Gold in the hope that it will bring pleasant memories to you in the years to come. Through the use of trees, our theme, we have shown the many aspects of student life at Reynolds. The lofty pine symbolizes the high academic achieve- ments; the maple, with its multi-colored leaves, represents the variety of clubs; the strong oak, the extended athletic program; and the magnolia, the lovely Black and Gold queen. The year which has passed has left us with a deeper realization of the necessity for cooperation between individuals and among nations.
