0lll0I' Class Ihstory an In Auglust of 1948 thirty mne traditionally green freshmen entered Qulin Hig with Mr Batterton as sponsor We soon learned the ropes and went through them Our candidate for queen Luella Metcalf was defeated As sophomores we chose Miss Livers as sponsor We had two parties a skating party and a movie Again we failed to have our can didate for carnival queen Dorotha Nentrup crowned We took our place as Juniors with only twenty nine members Miss Garver and Mr Green were elected sponsors and both have backed everything we have planned We conceded victory in the Curtiss Maga. zine contest to the Seniors and gave a party for them Our other two parties were spent skating or at a movie by individual choice The Jun 1or play 'Backwoods Romeo' was a huge success Our Junior year again saw our candidate for queen Mary Ruth Webb defeated The big event of the year was the banquet given at the Dunn Hotel in honor of the that two of our boys along with a Senior boy was lost in them thar hills Ever one was determined to make our Senior year one to be remem bered 1ss Garver and Mr Green were re elected sponsors by unan 1mous vote During Mr Green's absence to complete his Masters de gree, Mr Vancil has acted as sponsor We were victorious in the year's magazine contest and had a grand time at the party the Juniors gave for The Senior Class was delighted to see their candidates Joyce Ben ton and Billy Joe Davis crowned Carnival King and Queen Our play The Able Miss Cain was a huge succe On June first a group of very excited Seniors left for Pensacola, Florida Biloxi Mississippi and New Orleans Louisiana and allpo1nts beyond We stayed six days and returned tired but happy ad,-hlaiales cfb-v x I 5 0 0 . u D , . - . . . , . i .
