a straight line is the shortest distance between two points, that ' s simple, but a straight line is often difficult to comply with, such as the lines leading to the objective of a college education. at q. c. one is confronted with a challenge — to gain an education in four short years— to force oneself from the realm of adolescence to the far away point of maturity, competence and self reliance. there are three lines here at quincy — simplicity of friendliness, simplicity of cheerfulness, simplicity of informality, these are guiding reins through a four year span — undiverging, straight, simple — penetrating through all activities. simplicity is the phrase upon which the variations of our daily college life are developed, it is the theme of this yearbook.
