Homecoming Queen of Quincy High School and her court was duly feted dur- ing the nalf-time of Quin-, s homecoming basketball game with DeGraff, December 9, at the Quincy High School gymnasium. Miss Lois Baker was crowned homecoming queen by Lloyd Thompson, the queen's escort and captain of the Quincy Trojans. Ronald Van Buskirk, captain of the DeGraff Pirates presented Miss Baker with a bouquet of roses. ln the queen's court were Irene Ashburn, maid-of-honor, Janet Weeks and Ledona Haines, attendants. The election of a homecoming queen and attendants grew out of the organization of two political parties, the Orange and the Black, at Quincy High School early this school year. After the parties were established Quincy students decided to elect a queen and court, and with each party nominating a candidate for queen from the Senior Class and an attendant from the Iunior Class extensive campaigns were carried on for a week. On the various committees pre- paring for the homecoming cele- bration were: decorating committee Mary Siferd, chairman, Irene Ashburn, Ledona Haines, Janet Weeks and Thad Carrg court com- mittee, Lloyd Thompson, chairman, Wayne Dorsey, Holmes Bell, Jeffery Allinger and Damion Spicerg flower committee, Miss Barbara Winget, Mrs. John McCoy, Irene Achburn and Lloyd Thompson.
