Always ready for a good time. A sooo name is rather to be chosen than great riches. Once your friend, always your friend. -You can't be a howling success by simply howling. -She says things with her eyes that others waste time putting into words. A good listener is not only popular everywhere but after awhile he knows something. Men of few Wbrdl are the best they say. No two people are alike ann ooth are glad of it. Men who kiss and tell are not half as bad as those who kiss and exaggerate. The happiest miser on earth---the man who saves up every friend he can make. When she drives and sticks out her hand to make a turn it means only one thing---the window is open. A boy who has a natural genius for combining business with pleasure. A wise man knows how little he knows. Prophecy of Class of '50 The other night I sat down in my easy chair, leaned back and began to read my news- paper, The World Times, 1960. The startling headlines ---- Holmes Bell appointed Chief Justice to the Supreme Court ---- nearly knocked me out of the chair. Just think! His career originated when he became Chief Judge of Quincy Local. As I read on, I found that his first big case was concerned with the overloading of a plane by one of his former classmates, Bessie Brown, who now is a record-breaking aviatrix. She was arrested by State Highway Patrolman Damion Spicer, who observed the plane skimming the telephone wires. The plane was bulging with soldiers. Bessie's still hoarding soldiers, but Judge Bell said she'd just have to make a choice. Boy! Is she in a predicament! In the Hottsy-Tottsy society column I noticed that Donna Midlam had given a party at her mansion announcing her engagement to Daniel Purke, a fabulous millionaire and owner of the mckv-Sticky Wave -oet Company. I wonder which one has the Licky-Sticky wave, Donna or Danny? In the agricultural section, I read that Bob Heath, local veterinary, was called to the Thompson Purebred Angus Farm for one of Lloyd's prize steers. It seems that Mrs. Thompson, who used to be a Baker, fed the steer one of her muffins and the steer nearly choked to death. But after Mr. Heath took a good look at it, the steer died of a heart attack. I was so sorry to read in the sick notes that Thad Carr was in the hospital with a punctured ear drum. He's a reporter now, and at the time of the accident, he was lis- tening in someone's keyhole lgossip reporter, youknowl and someone stuck the key in. Here's some news that really knocked me for a loop! Jeff Allinger has taken Phil Spitalmy's position as director of the All-Girl Orchestra. They say that the cute first trumpet player is none other than Tonimy Dorsey's cousin, Wayne Dorsey. I guess Wayne and Jeff really have a hot timel I noticed that Damion took his police car to Montgomery's Garage to be overhauled and the car hasn't run since. When Bob works on a car, it never works right, but at least he has a successful businessat washing car windows. ln the court news.. I read that Roberta Rowley is marrying husband Number 9. They say her ring finger has turned green from over exertion. Congratulations, Number 9, Roberta! Orchids to Irene Ashburn who has been promoted from a soda jerk to a pharmacist at the Ding Dong Bell Pharmaceutical House! They have had a terrible wind storm in the mid-West. It was caused by Carl Clay who just assumed the position as weather forecaster on the radio. He blew off so much that he blew through the radios causing a dreadful tragedy. With that I closea ...e paper and fell back sound asleep in my chair. Barb Plank Carl Carr Ruby Ceylor Jim Strong Janet Weeks 12
