One of the Freshman homerooms, Room 10, surprised the school by reaching its goal first in the Curtis Magazine Campaign, thus winning the coveted ice cream party. Our Freshman-parent Night was also successful. While Freshman, we put on several outstanding assembly plays, one of which,HThe Light In The Window,H an Easter Play, was very popular among the students. For our freshmen initiation, the members of our class were all subjected to wearing homemade hats. During our Sophomore year we planned the Color Day Program and held the Color Day Dance in the evening. We felt very proud to receive our colors, Blue and Gold. In our Junior year we held the Halloween Party for the school. Later in the year we produced our Junior class Play, a three-act comedy, entitled nThe Cannibal Queen.H At this time we also ordered our class rings. The last event of the year was our Junior-Senior Prom following the theme of a cool setting, HOn A Tropical Island.H At last our Senior year arrived. This time in the magazine campaign, we won the coke and pretzel party and the ice cream party. Shortly after this we produced our Senior Class Play entitled NThe Mountain Gal.N We also ordered and received our Senior pictures. This year we attended the Junior-Senior Prom as guests. On Awards Day many seniors received awards for various accomplishments. At last Graduation Day has arrivedl Although we are leaving this school, we shall never forget the memories it holds. Manu TAIN G L Our senior class play was a three-act hillbilly comedy entitled Hmountain Galn, which concerned an orphan adopted by a hillbilly family. Patokah Lindsay, the leader of the clan--in name only--played the part of the long-suffering husband. Rita, bis wife, was the domineering shrew. In the play Deedee, the orphan, finally finds her long- Iost parents, entirely by accident. As the play ends, Dee- dee has become a successful authoress. All the weeks of work, under the direction of Mrs. Gos- sert, paid off in another memorable night for the Senior Class. , , ,I - is . .4 0 ff' 3 , f 132,3 4 JU ICR CLASS PLAY ,,W,,,Mm,M,7 V, Row 1 - Cheryl Minnich, Rosemarie Carter, Mary Murray, Jane Biesecker Row 2 f Katherine Miller, Jone Fahrney, Susan Stoner Row 3 - Mr. Heefner, Terry Baker, Ronald Coldsmith, Suzanne Misner Donald Knepper, Elden Newcomer, Rudy Cordell. THE CANNIB L QUEE Z' L K 1 I 6 In the lobby of the Craig House, a group of unusual characters came to form a very amusing evening for both players and the audience. when the news that a beautiful C?J Cannibal Queen named Ju-Ju is announced, curosity certainly is aroused, but this is nothing to the excitement and the problems which are caused when she Cor rather they! arrive. All goes well, however, for in the end the newspaper reporter keeps his job. T saee n , .f,, ' For many years Quincy High has been served well by our student-government body, the Stu dent Council. The Student Council had been under the capable leadership of Mrs. Eyler for many yearsg but the advisorship was changed this year to Mrs. Spangler, who has filled the capacity well. This organization plays a large part in student life. Each year they give the first as- sembly, sponsor the Thanksgiving dance, and choose the citizens of the month. This year they sponsored Spartan Day, which replaced our usual Color 'Day celebration. Besides these events they also have charge of the Remembrance Fund. This fund sends flowers to those who are sick and where there is death in the family. Quincy High has been indeed fortunate to have such a group as this to serve it. 35 POT ...T Q, , ...M eeeerr Q Q aww Seated: Row 1--Mary Socks-Historian, Donald Lehman-Vice President, Gladys Gette-Secretary Katherine Miller-President, Elaine Monn-Treasurer, Mrs. Spangler.
