lPlRlINClIlPAlL'S MUESSAGE Things are judged by their value and performance after production, not by the basic materials of which they are made. Quincy High School is judged by these same standards, the performance in the adult society by the end product, the graduate. By these standards we may be proud of our high school. It has many successful graduates in both the professional and non-professional ranks, and as this class of 1957 goes out into society, we feel sure that they have the potential and are prepared to compete with graduates from any school area on an equal basis. The past has proven this in the universities, the business world, the social knowledge and interest, in the music world, on the athletic field - grad- uates of Quincy High have been outstanding. So, -to the class of '57, go forth and take your place and take pride in whatever you do. HANLON THARP, Principal SUlP'lElRllNTlENDlENT'S MIESSACGJE I have been deeply interested in the educational development of the students of Plumas County since 1935, and have had a particular interest in those of Quincy Junior-Senior High School having served as principal of that school during a five year period following the fall of 1943. Since becoming your superintendent, I have missed the opportunity of knowing many of you personally, rather because of lack of opportunity than because of lack of interest. However, I have been well aware of your overall achievements through your student organizations and ac- tivities, and through the achievements of your alumni. The manner in which you have accepted your opportunities and re- sponsibilities is commendable, and I am proud to have had a part, along with your teachers and the people of the community, in the growth of educational opportunity in Quincy Junior-Senior High School and in the Plumas Unified School District. To the class of '57, my special wish for the best of luck and good fortune. RALPH HARMER, Superintendent
