Among these were ninety-six seventh graders. Among the first things they did was to elect a candidate for Homecoming Princess. For this, they selected Bonnie Train. Many of them went to the bonfire rally and their candidate was elected Homecoming Princess. During the year they attended many Junior High dances and parties. They also sponsored a dance for the Junior High. Near the end of the year they held a class picnic, which was enjoyed by everyone. Their class advisors were Mr. Elder and Miss McElroy. Momeeommg This year's homecoming was held October ninth and tenth. Thursday night the bonfire rally was held during which the members of each of the classes registered in order to support their candidates. The Queen candidates were: Seniors, Gayle Shulmire; Juniors, Kathryn Griffin; Sophomores, Gaye Gray. The Princess candidates were: Freshmen, Wanda Malotte; Eighth Grade, Barbara Wigg; Seventh Grade. Bonnie Train. A skit was given by the Pep Club, after which there was a dance in the girls gym. Friday afternoon there was a parade from the school to town. It was participated in by the Queen and Princess candidates in convertibles, the band, and the class floats. Friday night at the homecoming game betweenOuincy and Portola, the Senior candidate was crowned Queen, and the Seventh Grade candidate was crowned Princess. They were crowned by Eddie Combs, student body President. The Loving Cup for the best float was awarded to the Senior class. Varsity First row: T. Hasty, H. Johnson, B. Edwards, C. Wilson, J. They improved with every game, but just didn't have enough experience behind them. They started the season by playing a non-league game with Corning. With only this one game behind them, they started the regular season. They lost three league games by very close scores. Since most of these boys are Juniors and Sophomores, the next couple of years should see some very good teams from Quincy High. Starting Cine Up J. Clark, H. Stites, B. Edwards, C. Pence, C. Student Mody President’s Message As Student Body President, I would like to express the thanks and gratitude of the Student Council for the help and cooperation we have received from the faculty and students this past year. We feel that we have accomplished some worthwhile projects with the help we have received. However, we cannot help but wonder if we could not have accomplished a little more had we received more help and with more active participation from the Student Body as a whole. It is the responsibility of every student to take an active part in school affairs. If you have an idea or suggestion, take it to your class representative or council member, and the Student Council will give it full consideration and thought. The Student Council is made up of students elected by you, the Student Body. However, your responsibility as a student body member does not end with the election. Keep helping your council because, without you, we cannot make this democracy of ours work. We really appreciate the honor and experience we have received by being on the Student Council and being a main part of the school. We want to thank you for this experience you have given us, and we all hope you will give the council next year as much help or more help than we have received during our year as members of the Student Council. I thank you. Eddie Combs Student Body President Seated: S. Coleman, D. O'Rourke, A. Alden, K. Griffin, E. Combs, T. Hasty, T. Train, J. Cotter, D. Jeskey. Standing: Mr. McCleave, D. Driver, J. Clark.
