But many people spend long, hard hours working on the yearbook. The one person who works the hardest is our advisor, Mrs. Joanne Finley. We are pleased that we had the chance to work with her. I would also like to thank Mr. Chard for his help in making the yearbook special for the seniors. Over the years your yearbook will become a priceless treasure, reminding you of all your valuable high school days that pass so quickly by. I present to you a memory filled year- book, the 1984 Oriole. H O KJL I CdbJb X Head Photographer Dawn Hilton and Rachel McRae As another year comes to a close, its nice to have a yearbook to look back on the fun we had. I would like to thank all the staff members who sold ads. Without their help the yearbook would cost a lot more. Also, I would like to thank Mrs. Finley for all her hard work, because if it wasn’t for her the yearbook would not be published. We would also like to thank Ron Philbrick from The Carousel for all his help and for developing all our pictures. 3 YEARBOOK SALES ASSEMBLY The Yearbook Staff had fun preenting several skits for their Yearbook Assembly. They were trying to get the point across that high school days fly by so fast that soon all they would have left would be memories and their yearbook. The skit that was the most fun to present was when some of the staff members pretended to be bushes and trees and other members of the staff toilet papered them. “Remember how funny Julie Davis was?” Paula, Jennifer and Nedra reminisce about their high school days. “Remember all the fun we had at our high school dances?” “Remember all the fun students had this year T.P.’ing each others houses and yards?” Dawn cries because her high school days are over and Tim says “Aren’t you glad you bought a yearbook?” The Yearbook Staff pauses for a picture after doing a super job presenting the Year- book Assembly. Without You, I am nothing. I was young when I came to know You, So I didn’t realize how great You are. I’ve drifted off through the years But You were always there, waiting for me to come to my senses. So now, my senior year, I’m back on the road with You at my side. With a Friend like You, I have no worries. And now I want to thank You for everything You’ve done. You’ve given me life and so much more — patience, gratitude, faith, understanding, hope... I owe You so much, and all I have to offer is my life. So now, to You, I dedicate my life. 15 PEOPLE 1984 SENIORS ARE IT! 2) an p. (Pennett (1hridtie (f3ettd JLrM £. BL oiverA Soxpk Q. In sharing, we have found friendship. In friendship, we have found ourselves. “TOMORROW” Our days of high school are growing short as graduation nears. The time is coming closer, when we will all have to face our fears. All of us are busy, making plans and goals that we hope to achieve. And we know in our hearts that they can happen, if we only remember to dream and believe. We will hold the memories in our heart, the fun times, the joys, and tears. And these times will become precious to us, as we recall them over the years. We wish all of our friends the best of luck, as we go our separate ways. Knowing that our decisions in life will affect us the rest of our days. We should consider graduation a happy time, not one of grief and sorrow. For we are no longer the children of yesterday, but the men and women of tomorrow. — Karen Hosek 33 (4) (5) (1) Rachel McRae and David Geiman, most organized (2) Bart Marshall and Lori Dobson, best dressed (3) Lori Dobson, David Ostrander and Pam Wilber, most disorganized (4) Art Hart and Michelle Sobiech, most gullible (5) Paul Falzon and Tim Finley, most intelligent 34 (1) Bart Marshall and Lori Dobson, most musical (2) Bruce Pohl and Lynn DesJardins, rowdiest (3)Tim Wilkinson and Kelly Johnson, most athletic (4) David Geiman and Laura Horney, most bashful (5) Lori Dobson and Robert Stanton, most artistic 35 (5) (1) Denny Higbee and Lori Dobson, best smile (2) Patti Lutterbeck and Doug Marsh, best eyes (3) Bruce Horn and Kristie Strouse, best build (4) Julie Davis and Tim Brown, best looking (5) Bart Marshall and Lori Dobson, most active 36 (5) (1) Bart Marshall and Lori Dobson, best personality and most likely to succeed (2) Gail Wineland and Tim Braden, class flirts (3) Lance Wiser and April Jett, most talkative (4) Tim Braden and Lori Dobson, friendliest (5) Class of ’84, best all around Seniors 37 ure? The diamond itself saw remarkable improvement in becoming the best in the area, mostly because of it becoming enclosed with an extremely attractive look- ingfence. Also, the baseball team’s funraisers included the beginning of construction for “in the ground dugouts.” The talent and capabilities of the team itself also were quite prevalent. An increased schedule saw Quincy go undefeated outside of the conference in regular season games. The highlight being impressive tournament wins over Bronson (8-0) and Battle Creek Spring- field (22-8) in gaining the championship at the Bronson Invitational. A Junior dominated team ended the season at 10-10 overall and at 6-8 in the conference, which gave Quincy 5th place. One sign of improvement was the games that were lost were close, four of them were one run games. This “should” change with the maturity of next year’s team. Post season awards were given as follows: Tim Brockway received 1st Team All Conference Honors and Scott Lutterbeck and Tim Wilkinson made the 2nd Team. Craig Fish, Kenny Kurtz, Shaun Massey and David Wilson received Honorable Mention. Hard work and deter- mination paid off because this young team finished with a 4-3 conference record and a 4-7 overall record. Quincy finished 5th in the conference meet with an overall final track standing of 4th place. Quincy qualified 13 people for 12 events in the Branch County Meet. Tim Finley tied the pole vault record that Randy Houtz set in 1978 at 11T0 . David Spalding qualified for the State Meet in the high jump. Two boys joined the Century Club: Tim Finley with 160 7 8 points and David Spalding with 195 3 8 points.
