There is a deep satisfaction to be found in working with teammates in some vigorous sport or in joining classmates in cheering the team on. In 1974 Quincy entered a new association of schools, the Big Eight Interscholastic Associ- ation, composed of Athens, Concord, Homer, Jonesville, Reading, Springport, Union City, and Quincy. This conference has been formed for the purpose of fostering interscho- lastic activities between member schools. Each year trophies are given to the schools win- ning championships in each sport and an all-sports trophy is also presented. Any boy or girl trying for a place on a team should be willing to give his or her best at all times. It is understood that when a student presents himself as a candidate for one of the school teams he accepts full responsibility to conduct himself at all times as a sportsman and a true representative of Quincy High School. The Quincy Athletic Board in accordance with the Michigan High School Athletic Associ- ation sets up and interprets all eligibility rules for high school students. Our school must conform to these rules at all times or we may lose the privilege of competing with other high schools. The state eligibility rules will always be posted in the school building.
