A great deal of support for Pro- ject Christmas comes from the community, not only through donations, but also through many hours of volunteer work. Com- munity Night brings people of all ages together to put the finishing touches on everything so that deliveries can be made. Project Christmas has become a year-round effort providing help for those who are less fortu- nate. Christmas caroling at the Car- riage Inn and Maple Lawn is an annual project of the FHA. The group put together a patchwork quilt which is a map of the United States as their Bicentennial project. The quilt was displayed by the group at the state FHA convention in April. The girls have an FHA Week each year. An annual event of this week is a blueberry pie eat- ing contest. Shown in photos 2 and 3 are the contest in progress and the winner, Kenny Fickle. Kenny looks forward to FHA Week each year because blue- berry pie is his all-time favorite. 100 A Future for America in FFA Raising the chickens that were barbecued for the annual banquet, selling fruit, participation in the state convention, planting trees, and starting a new swine chain are among the many endeavors undertaken by the FFA this year.
