The Way We Are Now The change from the way we were has proved to be successful. 1974 has been a first for the big 8 conference, which consists of 8 schools: Quincy', Homer, Concord, Springport, Reading, Jonesville, Union City, and Athens. Also a first, in fifteen years the girls are given credit, for they too contributed to the great success with basketball, track, and volleyball teams of their own. And it has been rewarding for Quincy, for this year our Orioles walked away with the First All-Sports Trophy. Good going guys and gals!! Our Orioles fought in eight different sports to achieve this goal. They were: girls and boys basketball, track, wrestling, baseball, golf, crosscountry, football, and girls volleyball. Also newly formed this year was an interscholastic student senate. The purpose of the senate is to promote better interscholastic relationships and activities with each other. Quincy also held the presidency with senior Oriole Jeff Smead presiding. Other officers are: vice- president: Joan Beck - Athens, - secretary: Sue Clifton, - Reading, and treasurer: Cheryl Downing, - Springport. 4
