74 Oriole Freshmen — 94 Middle School — 99 Activities — 110 Elementary Organizations — 120 The Way We Are Now The change from the way we were has proved to be successful. 1974 has been a first for the big 8 conference, which consists of 8 schools: Quincy', Homer, Concord, Springport, Reading, Jonesville, Union City, and Athens. Also a first, in fifteen years the girls are given credit, for they too contributed to the great success with basketball, track, and volleyball teams of their own. And it has been rewarding for Quincy, for this year our Orioles walked away with the First All-Sports Trophy. Good going guys and gals!! Our Orioles fought in eight different sports to achieve this goal. They were: girls and boys basketball, track, wrestling, baseball, golf, crosscountry, football, and girls volleyball. Also newly formed this year was an interscholastic student senate. The purpose of the senate is to promote better interscholastic relationships and activities with each other. Quincy also held the presidency with senior Oriole Jeff Smead presiding. Other officers are: vice- president: Joan Beck - Athens, - secretary: Sue Clifton, - Reading, and treasurer: Cheryl Downing, - Springport. 4 SENIORS SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT: Ted Kurtz SECRETARY: Rita Milks (absent) Scattered Pictures VICE-PRESIDENT: Pat Supianeski TREASURER: Laura Miller HISTORIAN: Oneida Stempien Katya C. Truck on Billy Where’s the WATER? 58 Our 1973-74 J. V. Orioles had a remarkable season with an overall record of 18 and 1. The highlight of the season was 2 victories over the Homer J.V.'s. We held the best record in the league with a 13 and 1 record. The team was made up of 15 super sophomores. The leading scorer was Dennis Bice, and the leading rebounder was Chris Everline. Tim Baldwin had the most defensive points: Bill Kurtz had best free throw percentage and Joe Wright held the best field goal percentage. These 5 were the starters and the rest of the team did an excellent job coming off the bench. CONGRATULATIONS!! If you can hussle, you can score, and Chris scores 2 pts. In this League two points are hard to come by, as we see Tim going in for a well covered shot. Joe Wright gets his fingers on two more pts, Billy Kurtz goes for fast break, and puts us ahead.
