FASHIONS IN FASHION: Today the word takes on a whole new meaning. What's in is anything! The styles range from laidback and casual to neat and formal. It's a time for contrast. It's a time for individuality. Big. baggy pants and tight stir- rup pants arc both in style. Bright colors and many different patterns are visible everywhere. Paisley has made a comeback, appearing on anything from socks to swatches, for both male and female attire. Probably the most memorable phase was the fluorescent fever. Thank Cod. it's now a memory! We can finally took at clothes without the aid of sunglasses. Androgyny has had a big influence on styles. Male and female clothing has become very similar. Overcoats and cardigan sweaters are two of the shared elements in this scene. This style of dress has gotten so popular that fathers are beginning to put locks on their closets to keep their daughters out. To dress up their outfits, many have discovered accessories. Accessories now in- clude anything from diamonds to dog-collars. Large ear-rings, numerous bracelets and color- ful scarves help to liven up any outfit. Like clothing, hairstyles have taken on ex- tremes. Styling gel has been discovered (and abused in some cases!). Simple straight bobs can be turned into wild masses of untameable locks thanks to the gel. hairspray and mousse. Guys have also started to experiment with their hairstyles. The side part has again become popular, but the more daring have shaved or spiked their hair. Even the flat top has also made its re appearance. As the styles change, it is next to impossible to predict what ties ahead. We can be sure, however, that the Class of '86 will never be ac- cused of a lack of imagination when it comes to their mode of dress. Right: Sang Yoo gels dressed up for school. Below.
