CY VOC DEDICATION Larry Babin, who has dedicated 30 years and 6 months of his life to the students and faculty of the Quincy Vocational-Technical School and to Quincy High School retired in December of 1980. He finally has the chance to do the things that he's always wanted to do. such as read- ing. fishing, and relaxing. Mr. Babin has received many awards during his life, but he doesn't place them high in his standards. He says. The best reward is to have students who have gone out. and made a good living, have come back and said that they've received a good educa- tion.” Mr. Babin believes that the person replacing him should be a hard worker, and have a good sense of humor. He says. You need a good sense of humor to survive. If you can't laugh at yourself, you're in trouble. Of course. Mr. Babin has a serious side. too. He leads a precise life and he believes that neatness and organization are important qualities of life. He enjoys work- ing with the students and believes that he will miss the daily contact with them more than any- thing else. Because of his commitment to Quincy High and the Voc-Tech students, we the Yearbook Staff, would like to dedicate the 1981 Goldenrod to Mr. Babin. ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT Top right: Mr. John A. There’s too much pride to show our tears. the thing in which we lack. What’s here today is gone tomorrow, the times have been naive. ' Let's talk about the good ol’ days V before it’s time to leave; the times that highlight our youth have left and gone to rest. Yesterday's gone, but we’re still here — let's make this party best. To work on the production of a huge project, such as the Goldenrod Yearbook, requires incredible devotion from the partici- pants. Sometimes the responsibility becomes an agonizing burden, and the after-school and weekend meetings futile efforts towards a seemingly worthless goal. Each person has ideas and incentive, but lacks the ability to compound them into one prod- uct. To advise such a venture is an incredibly difficult task, for it is the role of the advisor to establish this productive harmony. To put into words, the time, effort, and guidance of Ms. Lori Pinkham whose unsurmountable dedication and encouragement was a propelling force behind the creation of this yearbook, is impossible. Ms. Pinkham gave unselfishly of herself, her home, her food supply to insure each deadline was met on time and production moved forward, not backward. Her competence and firm authori- tativeness deserves recognition and warm praise, for without her influence this yearbook would not have been possible. On behalf of the Goldenrod staff and the graduating class of 1981, thank you Ms. Pinkham for everything.
