'To lose o fnend is the greotest of oil evils, but endeovor rother to rejoice tbot you possessed him thon to mourn his loss. Senico — EpiStuloe ond Lucilium Poul Nigro, on honor student ot Quincy High School and our friend, possed owoy Februory 26 ofter o brief illness. His passing was a great shock to oil of us ot Quincy High School for everyone of us here was touched in some way by Pout's life. Even if o teocher did not hove him in doss, or if o student did not know him oersonolly, they were oil owore that he wos o leoder ond someone to admire. In today's world when people tend not to get involved with fellow human beings, Paul wos the exception. He wos enthusiastic about his school ond concerned with his fellow students. He wos President of the Notionol Honor Society ond the Student Union, o member of the Literory Mogozine, Americon Field Service, Choir, lotin Club, ond Moth Teom. His concerns were not limited to his school, for the community in which he lived olso felt it. He was aspiring to become o doctor, ond he was working os on orderly ot hte Robm House Convalescent Home where he had o worm rapport with the patients. He wos olso o member of the Y.M.C.A. His scholastic achievements ond his community oworeness did not go unnoticed. He wos selected this post yeor to oppeor in the Who's Who Among American High School Students ond wos o delegote to the 1975 Massachusetts Boy's Stote. People had only to meet him to recognize his outstanding leadership qualities and put their faith in his abilities. Paul wos respected ond loved by faculty ond students olike, os the following statements attest: “Paul Nigro: — warm, outgoing, curious, always enthusiastic about learning something new. He wos impossible to discourage. — tried to moke the most of every doy. — a hoppy person ond he mode his enthusiosm contagious. Ms. Jonet Kornmeyer Biology Teacher Q.H.S. 'Paul caused mony of us to renew our foith in the young people. He would build up your foith in the fact thot the generation to come was going to be a good generation. Mr. Russell Royner Physics Teacher Q.H.S. A scientist, olwoys tops in his class. Very responsible. Mrs. Heleno Royner Science Teocher Point Junior High School I'm gomg to miss him terribly, he wos o brilliant boy and he wos olwoys there if you needed him. I just loved him. Mrs. Katherine Myott Lotin Teocher Q.H.S. At Qumcy High and Vocational Technical School, Paul Nigro wos o very special young man. In a school community of more that 2700, he offected so mony of his schoolmotes ond teachers with the joy of his laughter, the vitality of his youth, the beauty of his hopes, ond the honesty of his choracter. He wos busy and lived every minute to its fullest potential, but he olwoys hod time to give attention with help or laughter to those in his company. He taught a teocher to try to remember how unique every humon bemg is and how important every monent is when spent with another. Thot's o beaotiful legacy for o seventeen year old boy to give.
