Text from Pages 1 - 182 of the 1972 volume:

2 Man is never all quiet in his endeavors. This is a concept which each of us has learned in the creating of this book. Through our exploration of classrooms, cubicles and corridors, we have attempted to capture people in their endeavors. All at once, the pictures in this book have brought the year to a stand- still, and at the same time have renewed the thoughts, schemes and aspirations of that year. Moreover, they show man in the light of a certain “wholeness”—an overall portrait of creation. At the same time that we were discovering this creation, we were seeking to emphasize man. the creator, able to envision with both his hands and his mind. It was through this recogni- tion of the individual as the imaginative creator in all aspects of life, that we were able to mold the foundation upon which the theme of this book is shaped. My coming to the United States was a great ex- perience because I really enjoy the way of life here. I’m very proud to be a graduate of Quincy High. I had a lot of fun when 1 went to the football game on Thanksgiving Day and I especially liked the cheer- leaders, which we don’t have anywhere in Brazil. I appreciate all the Clubs that I have joined, and their activities, such as. penny collections, and espe- cially the AFS balloon sale at the Christmas parade. That was something else!! Many thanks to the students in Quincy High’s grad- uating class of 1972 and good luck in your future en- deavors! Quincy went without a loss and entered the state tournament for the first time in 35 years. The J.V. Team also had a successful season. This was one of the best teams ever at Quincy since it had both skill and depth. Along with its winning season the team also had the great pleasure of defeating North Quincy twice. Ar- thur Boyle playing his third year as varsity goalie had a fine season, along with senior defenseman Rich Rat- ten. The entire team played very well and pulled out some big and exciting victories. Final record: 9 wins-9 losses-2 ties Despite a 3-4 season, both Coach Macomber and Coach Hall were pleased with the Winter Track Team. The team was made up of mostly underclassmen with little or no track experience. The team defeated Ran- dolph. Arlington and in a great effort North Quincy. Bob Ciano, quite possibly the best runner in Quincy history finished the season undefeated for the third year in a row. Other outstanding performers were John Johnson. Ray Lawyer. Outstanding sen- iors included Bob Ciano, Brian Feeney, and Paul Wahlberg. Bob Ciano finished his three year domination of the league with the fastest time and the league’s MVP trophy.
