dedication We, the Class of 1969, dedicate this yearbook to our principal, Mr. Lloyd M. Creighton. A devoted administrator and friend, he has shown us many qualities of a deeply committed educator. But it is in particular appreciation of his understanding for us, his patience with us, and his pride in our efforts, that we dedicate the Goldenrod 1969 to him. Never mind the scoreboard; of course we’re ahead! A principal is many things to many people. He is school-spirited and expansive of mind, whether he's jumping up and down at a football game, or thoughtfully smoking his pipe. He is soft-spoken, patient, and perceptive; he views the world through rose-colored glasses, combining wisdom with optimism. He looks respectfully to past traditions, whether he’s researching an unbreakable (?) PONY, or enjoying a dance at the Senior Prom. He aggressively plans for the future, a modular future for QHS, andES '70 for QHS. In his fatherly concern for the Class of '69, he is an example and friend to us all. 8
