We, the class of '43, have reserved the floor for our 10th Anniversary Dance. As we look over the crowd we see many familiar faces. Ah, just coming we see Sally and Bob Perry. Bob is now the head foreman in the shipyards at Schisselville, you know. well, here comes the faculty, Mr. and hrs. Warren Lundsgaard. Hrs. Lundsgaard was the former Edith Kum ar. He's the Unglish professor at the Schisselville Public School, and with them is Miss Wright who has the position of Superintendent there. Over there is that little WAVE, Virginia Griffin, who is still waiting for the fleet to come in. H . , and here we have our rhumba queen,Betty Day, who has changed her name to D Joy. And who is that with her? Oh, yes, Richard Knapp, the manager of the URhumboogie Clubn where Betty is the main attraction. But, say, don't I recognize that orchestra leader? I knew I did--it's Duke Wayne--the same Duke we had at Quimby Hi! In case you'd like to know, the drummer in the orchestra happens to be good ole' Vernone Ray, who wa noted for pounding his mother's pans with silverware back in his high school days. Their songbird is none other than Joleen Baum. Those two jitterbugs who seem to have ' everybody's attention are Jean Hueser and Vernell Perry. They ' are soon to be seen in the new Darrell Bakker production, UFlying Di5its.H Darrell has made quite a name for him- self out in Hollywood. v Now, there is a lady worth looking at. The one dressed in satin and furs. Why, it s Madame Marguerete, the former Darlene' eck. She has just made her debut at Metropolitan Opera- ' I see we have a doctor in the crowd. Dr. Jack Kum- mer, the famous brain surgeon, and 'his assistant, Betty Rupp, are leaders in our Conga line. . Sitting at that table is the Marine hero, Sam Can- tine, accompanied by his wife, Barbara, and surrounded by H.. nun-an----Q , ,
