On April 21, the juniors were host to the seniors at a lovely banquet given in the high school gymnasium in the' seniors' honor. The theme of this banquet waspatriotism, and the gymnasium was duly decorated in red, white, and blue crepe paper streamers. The tables were arranged in a HV for Victeryn pattern, and a battleship centerpiece helped convey the theme. After a dinner of fruit cock- ' tail, wafers, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, fruit salad, radish roses, rolls, jelly, butter, ice cream, cake, and coffee, the seniors were entertained at the Arrow Theatre in Cherokee. When they entered their hall of knowledge for the last time, as seniors, the class of '45 missed two mem- bers: Dale Green entered at Gleghorn, and Shirley Hodg- don at Orange City. To balance this subtraction, Robert and Vernell Perry of Gaza joined the class. With Mr, Mortensen as their sponsor, they elected the following class officers: President--Floyd Zimmer, Vice-President- Warren Lundsgaard, Secrotary-Treasurer--Vernell Perry, ' Student Council members--Berniece Kohn, Joleen Baum, Richard Lnapp and Virginia Griffin, During the course of the year, 3ack Elliott and Warren Lundsgaard left the ranks, 'til at the end of the long, long trail they numb ber twenty-four. On April 15 and 16, the senior play, UReady-Made Family,H was presented to the public. This play was eresented after a fewer number of rehearsals L than most, due to gas rationing and other inconveniences. This meant that really hard work was required of each and every member of the cast. Much time and effort was spent on the 1945 Echo, which was also published by the seniors and their sponsor. Cooperation by all was necessary, and was very prominently displayed. The seniors have all done their best, and tried to hold high the ideals and honor of the school. As they sorrewfully leave, they hope they have conveyed their best to the dear old alma meter,and wish the best of luck to their followers. u Qvqf u u 1f1f5f7f1f Army Officer--Why do you eat your food with your knife?
