X I --1 , ' Q ' J WM WHMQEQSE Mmmgiaiisafgmshi EEE UUE HU PLQF35 Friday night, March 26, fifteen students from Quim- by High School, Presented three one-act plays. The first play presented bore the title of nEffi- cieney Expert,W and took place in Mr. Catlin's office. Elmer, the son, attendin3'cellege, has just arrived home with his new bride, Pansy. He tries to keep her hidden from his father, and after having succeeded for quite some time, Pansy sneezes and comes forth to meet her father-in-law. She is declared Efficiency Expert. All of the cast held minor roles, but each was definitely essential to the excellent production which resulted. The Raveled Sleeve portrayed the living-room of a luxurious home on a cold January night, where a mother is anxiously awaiting the safe arrival home of her daugh- ters. This was a repeat performance, having been given once before at the Girl Reserves' Bazaar and Bake Sale, February 24. The castconsisting of all girls did an outstanding job of showing the reformation of two daugh- ters through their mother. An enjoyable 50 minutes began when the curtains were opened for the hillbilly play WSparkin'.n Every member of the cast did a grand job of staying in charact- er and carrying out the backwood ways of livin' and hill- billy talkin'. HWhat's you a-doin' young fcller?U and NYou cain't tell me what to do,n are just two of the many lines in Granny Painsberry's conversation that show how independent and nosey Granny really was. The perb formers had a good time giving the play, and certainly, from the laughter and applause, the audience thoroughly enjoyed it. -1 -f :::L:::e.:L:L:' -f :' I X su ww-.rn ,. A A .. One Sunday morning he went to the stable while still meditating on his sermon and attempted to saddle the horse. After a long period of toil, he aroused to the fact that he had put the saddle on himself, and had spent a full half hour in vain ef- forts to climb on his own back. --1 ,--4-. ...-
