'In' .N SPRHM3 BHSEBQLL A spring baseball schedule was played for the first time in several years, to fill in the curtailed track PPOQPHIHQ ' When practice started, about the same group of boys reported that had played in the fall--with the exception of Warren Lundsgaard, who had moved away. Spring also found Doyle Sones ready to go, after missing the fall campaign due to an appendicitis operation. In the first game of the season, the boys tacked a strong I. C. team, of Cherokee, and went down to defeat 4-2 after a close game. Stevenson hurled for the Pea- The next week the boys break into the winning victory. This was a well- hurled, and get lO strike- t game, gave added batting deal. For the third game, cocks, turning in a nice game. went to Washta, determined to column, and did so with a l-O played game. Stevenson again outs. The spring season has turned out to be much bright- er than the fall campaigng and with the added experience the boys have played a good brand of ball. The line-up for most of the spring games saw Can- tine behind the bat, with either Stevenson or Sonos pitching and the other holding down first, Dean Campbell alternating between first and the outfield, Bob Perry on second, Floyd Zimmer at short, and Jim Schissel on third In the outfield were Vernell Perry, Dale Pinkerton, and Dick Bleil.
