Lack of betting power was prone to be the big factor. In the next game of the season, the home team met the powerful I. C. nine of Cherokee,and went down to defeat W2O.Again the boys couldn't seem to hit the ball. After a two-week layoff, due to bad weather, the boys seemed to come back with new life, and dropped a close one to I. C. at Cherokee, 3-1. On the following week, Washta took the Peacock's measure by the same count 3-1. However, in the last game of the season, the boys broke loose, and handed Washta a 9-8 beating. . Although they won only one, and dropped four con- l tests, the boys gained valuable experience for theopening w campaign, and have shown marked improvement over the fall J season.
