The next night, however, the Uashta quintet again had the home team's number, and the Peacocks finished the season by dropping the'game to the team that went on to win the sectional title. ' Even though the team won 7 and lost ll contests, the season was by no means a failure. Many bright spots appeared during the season--one of the greatest being the sportsmanship of the boys from the first to last, whether winning or losing. Many complimented were re- ceived during the season on the fine behavior of the boys, both on and off the floor. Other bright spots were the outstanding rebounding ability of Sones, and his developing into an offensive man, as well as an out- standing defensive playerg the speed of the front court attack of Stevenson and Campbell, who at times could not be held down with their fast breakingg and the fighting defensive play of Perry, Lundsgaard and Cantine in the back court. Notable standouts of particular games were the outstanding speed and scoring punch against Cushing, the grim determination to take the Uashta giants, the flawless passing attack against Galva, and the power displayed against Aurelia. Probably the most exciting incident was the overtime victory against Meriden in the sectional tournament. ' ' ' The second team, composed of Rollinsg Griffin, B. Perry, Pinkerton, Furgason, Bennett, Day, and Jenness complied the best record a Quimby second team has had for some time by winning 6 and losing only 4 games. All of these boys except one were underclassmen, and should serve as a good nucleus for future teams. They also carried the same high plane of sportsmanship as V the first stringers, and never lacked the desire and scrap to play. ' All in all, it wasn't a bad season, and with a few breaks going the other way, the season percentage would have looked much more impressive for both teams. . ., .. . . ., .. zhruriiaturli-nr Peddler--HI have a fine assortment of coarse yarns in various shades. would you folks be interested?U Man of the house--HSure, tell me a few.U itibikiiitifitit' A man is like a postage stamp.
